Descriptive Text : My Brother

As we know that a descriptive text is one of the genre text type. Descriptive text can be define as a text that what a person or things is like. The social function of the descriptive text is to give descriptions and reveal a particular person, place or thing. 

Descriptive text is arranged by identification and then followed by description. The following text is the example of Descriptive Text that describe a person. Let's check it out. 

My Brother

Dwayne Johnson is my brother. People in my family usually call him Johnson. 

He was born in California, on May 2nd 1996. He has a bald head. He has no hair. His eyes are blue. He has a pointed nose. He has a muscular body. He is 196 cm tall. He has very handsome.

He likes jogging and wrestling. He also likes playing soccer in his spare time. In addition, he likes to play bowling and billiard in the weekend. 

He is a student of University. He studies linguistics. He is diligent and clever. He always does the tasks. He never absent in joining the classroom. Someday, he wants to be a linguist. 

After analyzing the text above, it can be concluded that generic structure of the descriptive text above are
1. Identification : My brother
2. Description : Describing the writer brother physically, hobbies and education

Halo apa kabar para pengunjung Catatan Callysta?

Sudah lama sekali saya tidak menulis di blog saya yang sederhana ini. Pada kesempatan sebelumnya, saya telah berbagi pengetahuan dan informasi mengenai Daftar Nama Raja-raja Kerajaan Tarumanegara. Nah kali ini saya akan berbagi sedikit informasi mengenai materi Bahasa Inggris. 

Tulisan saya kali ini berkaitan dengan text types atau sering disebut juga dengan genre. Tulisan ini saya beri judul Descriptive Text : My Sister. Sebagaimana kita ketahui bersama bahwa, descriptive text merupakan sebuah teks yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan seseorang atau benda tertentu secara khusus. 

The following text is the example of Descriptive text which describe a particular person. 

My Sister

I have a sister. Her full name is Kania Pink. But I usually call her Kania.

She was born in Demak, on June 16th, 2005. She has a long hair. She has slanting eyes and pointed nose. . She is about 117 cm tall. She is very beautiful.. 

She likes swimming in her spare time. She also likes to play piano. In addition, she likes writing. 

She is in the second year of elementary school. She is a diligent and clever student. She never comes late to school. She always do her homework. She always get good mark for her test. Someday, she wants to be a teacher when she grows up.

I love my sister very much.
