Procedure Text : How to Make Kids Bolognese

One of the popular text type or genre is procedure text. Almost the students in high school know what procedure text is. Procedure text can be defined as texts that describe how something is accomplished through sequence of actions or steps. Some people say that procedure text is texts that show us about sequence of steps to finish something or to use something. Procedure texts consist of series of actions to be accomplished in order to obtain the same result under the same circumstances. 

Procedure text has specific generic structure. It consist of goal or aim (usually is a title of the text), material (optional, not all procedure text use material in it) and steps (action must be taken). To make clear, please study the following example of procedure text about food recipes. 

How to Make Kids Bolognese

Ingredients 
- 6 Ripe Roma Tomatoes
- 1 Red Onion
- 60 ml Extra Virgin Oil
- 500 g Pork and Veal Mince
- 90 g Tomato Paste
- 3 Garlic Cloves
- 2 tablespoon red wine vinegar
-1 cup red wine
- Pinch of Sugar
- 400 g Large Rigatoni (or other short Pasta)
- Flat-Leave Parsley to Serve

Steps 
- Firstly, place the tomatoes, garlic and onion and half the basil in food processor. Pulse until finely chopped. 
- Secondly, heat oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. 
- Next, add the mince and cook for 5-6 minutes until well browned. 
- After that, add the tomato paste and stir to coat.
- Then, add the blended mixture, pinch of sugar, vinegar, wine and cook 15-20 minutes until reduced and fragrant.
- Bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil and then add the pasta, cook until el dente.
- Drain, reserving ½ cup (125 ml) cooking liquid. 
- Next, place half the sauce in a food processor and whiz until smooth. 
- After that, add back to the pan with the pasta and reserved water.
- Serve topped with Parmesan and parsley. (for 4 person)

Pada kesempatan yang lalu saya telah berbagi pengetahuan mengenai contoh Procedure Text  : How to Serve Mie Sedap Cup. As we know that procedure text is a kind of text type which tells us how to do something. Procedure text is mainly found in the food recipe. One of the example of procedure text is presented in the following text. 

How to Make French Toast

Materials
  1. syrup
  2. sugar
  3. eggs
  4. milk
  5. vanilla extract
  6. nutmeg
  7. bread
  8. butter
Steps
  1. First of all beat together the eggs and milk. 
  2. Whisk in the vanilla and seasonings. 
  3. Melt the butter in a skillet or griddle over medium heat. 
  4. Dip the bread slices in the batter. 
  5. Fry the bread in the butter until browned on each side. 
  6. Serve with syrup or powdered sugar.
